So you’ve just had your new cinema room installed, you’ve selected the low lighting setting on your Control4 app, you have more snacks than you could possibly need and you’re ready to sit back and let Hollywood whisk you away to another world.

Of course, you don’t need a dedicated cinema room to enjoy a movie, but if you would like to speak to one of our experts about smarthome installation, get in touch via email or call us on 0345 505 1760.

In the meantime, we’ve put together a list of some of the movies we’re looking forward to seeing from the comfort of our own home!*

Avengers Endgame (2 September 2019)

If you’ve not heard about this film, where have you been? The finale of the 22 film saga features all of your favourite Avengers making their final stand against Thanos to save the universe. With more superstars than you can shake a stick at, this three hour epic will certainly make you want to go back to the beginning and binge watch them all again in chronological order.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu (16 September 2019)

Do you have to be a fan of Pokemon to enjoy this movie? No, is the short answer. Ryan Reynolds stars as the voice of the wise-cracking Detective Pikachu – picture a PG Deadpool covered in adorable yellow fur. Pikachu joins forces with youngster Tim Goodman (Justice Smith) to untangle the disappearance of Goodman’s father. It’s a great bit of nostalgia for those who were fond of the original Pokémon incarnations.

Aladdin (23 September 2019)

A live-action remake of the 1992 Disney classic sees Will Smith attempt to fill the curly-toed shoes of the late, great Robin Williams as the Genie. It’s a tale as old as time (wrong Disney pun) directed by Guy Ritchie in which, a street urchin frees a genie from a lamp who grants him three wishes, one of which is to transform into a prince so that he can marry a princess.

Rocketman (30 September 2019)

This movie follows the journey of Reginald Dwight a shy pianist who transformed into the artist we all know and love, Elton John. Taron Egerton (Kingsmen) stars as Elton himself, telling the story of how a small-town boy became one of the world’s brightest stars. The movie is packed with all the hits you’d expect from the flamboyant megastar and will definitely have you tapping your feet and digging out your Elton records/cds/mp3s.

Lion King (est. November 2019)

Hot on the heels of Aladdin this ‘live-action’ remake of the 1994 tear-jerker, Jon Favreau (Jungle Book, 2016) has worked his magic on this lifelike CGI edition of the Lion King. Simba is heir to Mufasa’s kingdom but finds himself banished as Scar, Mufasa’s brother takes over the pride. A stellar cast including a reprisal of Mufasa for James Earl Jones, tells the story of Simba and Pride Rock.

Toy Story 4 (est. November 2019)

This franchise always delivers. In a world of sequels, a new Toy Story movie will always grab our attention. Many of the people who watched the original when it was first released will be showing this movie to their own children. Woody, Buzz and the gang are back on our screens along with the new-guy – Forky (voiced by Tony Hale of Veep fame), as they embark on another witty, funny and inventive adventure in the finale of the series.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (est. December 2019)

The latest spin-off from the popular car-themed adventure franchise, F&F presents Hobbs & Shaw sees Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham (respectively) return as the warring characters, corralled into joining forces to battle bad guy and cyber-genetically engineered Brixton (Idris Elba). If you like witty banter, explosions, car chases and action-packed fight scenes then look no further.
